Allele: Alternative form of a single gene in a locus.

Recessive Allele: Allele whose phenotypic effect is not expressed in the presence of its alternative allele.

Dominant Allese: Allele in which phenotypic effect is expressed in heterozygotes.

Back Cross: Cross between F1 offspring with P1.
